Don’t Let Wealth Escape You
Interesting comment made by a Spanish Distiller was, The good life is expensive. There is another way to live that doesn’t cost as much but it isn’t any good.
In today’s fast-moving, materialistic world, the good life is costly. However, do not be discouraged, because if you truly desire to live the good life, you most certainly can. It will require you to make some important changes in your life, but that does not matter until you FIRST decide that you want to live the good life. You must remember that money is not about making you happy, but rather, it is to make you comfortable and then allow you to extend your service far beyond your physical presence.
It is very common, and unfortunate, for poor individuals to tell others that money is not important but doing good for others is. Often, the response from the others is, “Yes, I agree with that. It’s noble to want to do good.”
Wallace D. Wattles wrote “The Science Of Getting Rich” in 1903. His response about money was, “If you want to do good, get rich first.”
Wattle’s statement may sound harsh, but he is right! Without money, the good you can do for the world will be restricted to your physical presence. On the contrary, you can extend your service (good to the world) well beyond your physical presence when you have plenty of money.
Realize, regardless of your background or financial position, you can have money but it must be earned. This obvious fact remains a secret to majority of our population. Oddly, many of us were raised to believe that the rich are blessed, happen to be at the right place at the right time, fortunate or are born into a rich family. For some people, this might be true. However, for many, riches were attained because they consciously and deliberately made the decision that they would be wealthy.
You are not alone if wealth has escaped you thus far in your life. For majority of the population, wealth has escaped them. Within our traditional education, we are not taught about the earning of money. Most likely, our parents have not taught us either. Why? For one simple reason, they do not know how.
Earning money can be thought of as a skill. Skills must be developed.
