Where can I find secret codes for my DVD player?

A friend sent me a DVD from Japan.Of course it won’t play because they’re region 2, we’re region 1. I’m told there’s a code I can key in on the remote to trick the player into playing the region 2 disc.It’s a RCA DVD player.Anyone know where I can find these codes without paying $20 for them ? Thanks.
Yes there are some codes available to unlock the region and it depends on the DVD Player. Some DVD player may not have this option. But its really hard in investigating the codes for a non standard DVD players.

I think the disc will only work if you have a multi-regional player. Never heard of codes for that, but that’s not to say they don’t exist.
